On the second of August 2015, the bishop of the diocese of southern Malawi led the Diocese in the ground breaking ceremony of an Administration Building Block which is expected to be erected inside the diocesan headquarters premises.

The structure which is expected to be a 3 storeys executive complex will replace the antique structure which the diocese uses as its office premises at the moment.
Situated at the heart of Limbe Business centre of the Blantyre city, the building is also expected to generate lots of income for the Diocese as some parts shall be rented out to external businesses owners.

According to the lead Architect of the building; Mr James Mdwazika; the design is expected to cost the Diocese about MWK 700, 000,000 ($1, 261, 261) Mr Mdwazika also added that, the building has been designed to standout for the next 40years as a modern building. He alluded that building is designed to accommodated any kind of business venture be it offices or shops.

Speaking to the congregation after the ground breaking ceremony, the Bishop of the Diocese Lord Bishop Alinafe Kalemba asked all members of the diocese take ownership of the project. He said that, the building is one of the signs of the Church thinking Business. The Bishop also pointed out that; the building shall reduce the diocesan dependence on congregation as the sole budget contributor because, the building shall contribute greatly to the operations budget of the diocese.

According to Bishop Alinafe; project funding is expected to come from several sources such as external partners, Diocesan Fundraising but a majority of the funds, is expected to come from the congregation. According to the diocesan strategic plan; the unveiled project is among many other income generating activities planned for the next five years by the Diocese.
