Chikwakwa Celebrations Ready To Be Served For You

Every year, the Diocese of Southern Malawi celebrates the lives first UMCA missionaries who Died in Chikwawa while spreading the Gospel that Anglican Christians enjoy today. Traditionally, The celebrations are normally parked various performances such as Music, poems and sermons from numerous groups and individuals.

This year preparations for the event seem to be unique, especially with the coming of Diocesan Events Management Team. The Chairman of the Committee Mr. Oswin Kasunda Challenged that, his Committee is committed to delivering a Church of the art 2017 Chikwawa Celebrations. “the Committee is working tirelessly in ensuring that that delegates are forced to look forward to the 2018 and years to come celebrations.

He informed Angdiosoma news that, the events shall begin on 28th April with a visit to Chikwawa District hospital by all diocesan guilds and groups where they shall they shall donate various items to patients and also clean the surrounding of the hospital. Later on with a vigil that has been jointly organized by the Evangelism and Mothers Union departments of the Diocese. “During the vigil, there shall be prayers, music, Choir competitions and many other activities in preparation for the main event the following day” hinted Kasunda.

Mr Kasunda further urged all members of the church to join their Bishop in patronizing the event in memory of our departed brethren in Christ.

Speaking earlier during The 2016 Diocesan Standing Committee, the Diocesan Bishop pointed out to the house on the importance of the celebrations. He said that such sacrificial people, who died of harsh conditions for the sake of the gospel deserve to be celebrated.

He further stressed that the event is a must attend for all clergy of his Diocese.
